White Water Rafting with Great Away Days
White Water Rafting with Great Away Days In Tayside

White Water Rafting

So what would be your perfect weekend? Are you looking to do something totally different, fun and exciting? If so, then you've come to the right website, because Great Away Days can offer you a White Water Rafting experience that you will treasure forever and never forget!

You don't need to be in an exotic location to shoot wet ‘n' wild rapids in a raft, as Scotland has plenty of White Water Rafting of its own. With Great Away Days, you can paddle along either gently or fast-flowing water, as you enjoy some of the best White Water Rafting that Scotland has to offer!

What does White Water Rafting involve?

It's wet, it's wild and it's wonderful! Moreover, we offer a choice of rafting runs of different technical grades and lengths, which means that almost everyone can give this fun-fuelled activity a go. White water rafting is the most popular and most social adrenalin pumping of sports! White water rafting is not just getting down the river, it's a away of life for sure. All year round you will catch us out and about, making the most of the constantly changing rapids and exhilirating stretches of white water in Perthshire.

In Perthshire, we can take you - by flow - along the Silvery Tay, the longest river in the UK. The Tay is an impressive river to raft on, winding its way through picturesque Perthshire and offering rafting to suit most ages and levels of ability. Our range of trips includes:

  • The River Tay  (Grade 2/3) - The River Tay provides the ideal introduction to rafting, though in high water can still provide an adrenalin buzz. The 8 mile stretch offers the chance to learn the fundamentals of paddling before the crescendo of the whitewater  slalom course at the end of the run. (Year round)
  • The River Tummel (Grade 3/4) - The Tummel provides higher grade rafting with (hopefully) great sunshine and warm weather. The Tummel is technically more challenging than the Tay, however, it is still ideal for newcomers and improvers! (June-Sept Weekends Only)
  • The River Braan (Grade 3/4) - One of the most exhilirating rivers! High grade and technically challenging rafting - this is suited to those looking for a high adrenalin buzz on the water! (Oct-March depending on river levels)
  • River Orchy (Grade 3-5) - A winter river - probably the highest grade commersially fated river in the UK. Does require high water but an absolute buzz everytime.(Nov-March)
